Indian Hindus from Maharastra state perform the Beni Dan ritual, in which long-married couples pray to become husband and wife in the next seven lives, on the banks of the river Ganges at Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati rivers, in Allahabad on September 6, 2009. Sangam is one of Hinduism's most important centers where thousand of devotees gather to perform rituals throughout the year.
