Energy Minister greeted with black flag in home town

NUWAKOT, SEP 14 - The Unified CPN (Maoist) activists pelted stones at and showed black flag to Energy Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat on Monday.

Minister Mahat arrived here as the chief guest in the sixth general assembly of Nuwakot Construction Entrepreneurs’ Association fifth district convention this morning. The Maoists greeted the Minister with black flag within 300 meters distance ranging from Bidur of Nuwakot Chowk to Loktantrik Choutara this morning.

The agitators also pelted stones to the minister chanting anti-government slogans.

The district headquarters, Bidur became tense for about half an hour due to the Maoist demonstration.

The police were forced to resort to baton-charge to contain the situation.

Police inspector Komal Sah and a Maoist activist were injured in the clash.
