KATHMANDU, JAN 26 - President Ram Baran Yadav on Sunday called on the political parties to form a consensual government before February 2.
President Yadav made such announcement for government formation citing Article 38 (1) of Interim Constitution 2063.
In a press statement released today by Sarada Prasad Trital, Secretary at the President's Office, President Yadav called on the political parties representing the Legislature Parliament to elect prime minister based on consensus and form a cabinet under his chairmanship before February 2.
President's announcement comes hours after Nepali Congress, largest party in the Constituent Assembly, elected its president Sushil Koirala as the party parliamentary party leader.
