The UCPN (Maoist) gave the nod following intense pressure by the Nepali community living in Qatar for recalling Sharma saying that her conduct has tarnished the image of Nepal.
The government and UCPN (Maoist) came under pressure after Qatari Envoy to Nepal Ahmed Jasem Al Hamar wrote a formal letter to Foreign Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire, urging him to take steps to prevent possible deterioration of bilateral relations between the two countries.
A Central Committee meeting of the UCPN (Maosit) convened at its headquarters in the Capital on Friday gave a written consent to the government to recall envoy Sharma to Nepal, leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha informed. Sharma's suspension has become almost certain after the UCPN (Maoist) decision call her back.
Ever since her appointment, Nepali ambassador Sharma was being criticised for not being worker friendly. She had shut down the residence building meant for Nepali people caught up in trouble.
Ambassador Sharma's diplomatic eligibility was questioned after she said, in a BBC Sajha Sawal TV programme, that Qatar was an open prison. Right after such statement, she wrote a letter to the Qatari government to deport a journalist who wrote against her.
Sharma, a section officer at Agricultural Development Bank of Chitwan, was appointed as ambassador on the quota of UCPN (Maoist) .
