BUTWAL, MAY 07 -
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that there will be election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) even if the dissenting fringe parties oppose the polls. Chairman Dahal said that the election will go ahead as the environment for the polls has already been created and that the election will not be affected from the resistance of few smaller parties.
The former Prime Minister who reached Butwal on Tuesday to take part in the marriage banquet of Bishwadeep Pandey, personal aide of party Vice Chairman Baburam Bhattarai, said that efforts were underway to bring on board the disgruntled parties into election procedure.
Dahal said that there was no point in criticising former Chief Secretary Lokman Singh Karki's recommendation as the head of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) as the recommendation was as per the constitutional provision.
He was of the opinion that the President should immediately endorse Karki's appointment as it was supported by the major parties.
