Four-party mechanism, Regmi meet in Baluwatar
KATHMANDU, MAY 07 -
A meeting of the high-level political mechanism took place at the residence of Chairman of Interim Election Government Khil Raj Regmi in Baluwatar on Tuesday evening.
Chairman Regmi and other senior leaders of the major four political forces—UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and Symukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha—were present in the meeting.
The meeting took place at a time when the Constitutional Council (CC)'s recommendation to appoint former Chief Secretary Lokman Singh Karki as the head of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is drawing criticisms from several quarters.
Based on the recommendation of the major four parties, the CC on Sunday proposed Karki's name to head the CIAA.
