KATHMANDU, MAR 20 - The Election Commission (EC) Secretariat has remarked that they have started the process for election, but with the empty offices in the commission it is impossible to take the process ahead.
Addressing a program in the Capital, EC Secretary Narayan Gopal Malego said, "We have been preparing to hold timely election. However, it is impossible without filling the vacant posts of the commission first."
Moreover, EC General Secretary Maheshwor Neupane said that it is a global view to create a work force for democracy, good governance and election. He also notified that the commission has already collected the voters list of 11 million voters and plans to collect the list of 1.5 million within this month.
"We are collecting the voters list. The list may increase after the Home Ministry distributes the citizenship," said EC Spokesperson Anil Kumar Thakur. However, Thakur said that the voters' education process has not started as the political parties have not formed the election system yet.
