KATHMANDU, FEB 10 -
Jigme Dongstetsang won the title of the NYBF Charity Golf tournament played at Gokarna Golf Club in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Jigme was tied with Korean golfer Park Byeong Taek at 35 stableford points after 18 holes competition. Jigme, who scored 18 points on the front nine and 17 on the back nine was declared winner on countback ahead of Park who had the score of 19 on the front and 16 on the back nine. YD Kwon bagged the title in ladies’ category, while Keith Harrison hit 30 gross points to bag the Best Gross award.
Joseph Zimmerman won the best senior golfer award and Tenzing Palden won the best junior golfer award. Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the longest drive award, Suhrid Ghimire got the closest to the pin and Robin Rana bagged most birdies award.
The event was played under stableford format with 3/4 handicap over 18 holes. Total of 59 players took part in the tournament. The proceeds of the tournament will go to the fund of NYBF, which supports young businessmen who are seeking for collateral free loans.
