Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Ilam Chapter has organized a protest rally in Ilam this morning demanding action against the murderers of Dailekh-based journalist Dekendra Thapa.
The rally of journalists that started from big Tundikhel of Ilam with banners reading 'Put impunity to an end; take action against murderers' converged into a corner meeting at Chowk Bazaar.
Addressing the corner meet, FNJ, Ilam Chapter Chairperson Umesh Gurung expressed serious concern over the Prime Minister's recent remarks meant to protect the perpetrators of journalist's murder.
He also demanded action against the murderers of journalists from Thapa to Yadav Poudel of Jhapa.
Gurung accused that Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai's remarks intending to free the murderers was the culmination of impunity.
As many as 30 journalists serving different media in the district participated in the rally. RSS
