BARA, DEC 27 -
A charred body of a young woman was recovered at Prastoka VDC-5 in Bara district on Wednesday morning. The body was identified as that of 18-year-old Bindu Thakur of the same village.
Bindu's body was found by a bamboo grove some 100 metres away from her house, where she lived with her parents and three sisters.
Her eldest sister, Rina, said that Bindu had left the house in the morning as usual for her tuition class. “Not even an hour had passed after she had left when we learnt that her burnt body was found nearby,” said Rina. A tenth grade student, Bindu was taking extra tuition with her other friends to prepare for the SLC exam.
Police said there are lots of things connected to the case that need explanation before they could reach any conclusion.
“There were no signs of struggle where the body was found. We suspect that the victim was murdered elsewhere and the body was moved to the place,” said Ramnath Ghimire, one of the police officers investigating the case.
Police have taken Bindu's
father, Rama Thakur, to custody for questioning.
