Dhading murder suspect killed
DHADING, DEC 05 -
A man suspected to be behind the killing of UCPN (Maoist) cadre, Bijay Tamang, on Monday morning was found murdered at Ratamatey of Darkha VDC in the district the following night.
Police found the body of Bhisan Simkhada at around 11 pm. His arms were tied to his back and there were deep cuts on his body.
Simkhada was one of the suspects in Tamang’s murder. Tamang had been shot dead in a forest at Gumdi VDC-7. Ramnath Adhikari, a local Nepali Congress (NC) leader, claimed that the Maoist activists murdered Simkhada in cold blood to exact revenge for Tamang’s death. He also claimed that Tamang was shot dead over a dispute between local gangs.
The NC’s claim comes at a time when the UCPN (Maoist) has been accusing the former of killing Tamang. Local Maoist leader, Pushpa Bikram Malla, said Tamang was murdered by the NC activists.
Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bikas Raj Khanal said they were investigating the twin murders. Police have already rounded five suspects in connection with Tamang’s murder and the suspects behind Simkhada’s killing have also been identified.
