JHAPA, JUN 10 -
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) of India has been found to have set up camps on no-man’s-land capturing two border pillars on the Indo-Nepal border, according to a report prepared by a joint monitoring and inspection team led by the Jhapa District Administration Office (DAO).
The report says the SSB captured pillar No 1 near Bhadrapur and pillar No 3 at Maheshpur VDC in the district. The DAO said the SSB had set up the camps after capturing the pillars 11 years ago.
However, no efforts have been made to resolve the issue so far.
“During the inspection, we found the SSB camps set up on the no-man’s-land destroying pillars,” said Chief District Officer, Narendraraj Sharma.
He said although the issue was not raised in the past, he will discuss it during a border meeting to be held after some months.
