SRC proposals increased confusion: Poudel
KATHMANDU, FEB 02 -
Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel said that the proposals presented by the State Restructuring Commission (SRC) have failed to remediate the complications.
“The proposals have increased the complications. We had anticipated that it would ease the problems, but they have rather confused us more,” said Poudel.
Talking to the media persons after the Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting, Poudel said that the proposals would be further discussed in CA, Constitutional Committee and the Dispute Resolution sub-committee. He said that NC rejects the proposal submitted by the majority of SRC.
Among much controversy, the SRC had presented with two proposals, one approved by the majority another by the minority, to the government. The majority proposal has proposed for an 11-state formation, based on ethnic identity, while the minority has proposed for a 6-state formation.
