KATHMANDU, FEB 02 - With Nepali Congress (NC) party President Sushil Koirala and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba agreeing to patch up all fundamental differences, the factions led by two leaders are soon likely to merge into one single NC.

In a meeting of two leaders on Thursday, an agreement was reached to bridge rift on policy and structure related issues that include formation of department under the NC Central Working Committee (CWC), nomination of CWC members, and dissolution of the sister wings.

“Deuba, who was about to leave for Dhangadi immediately after the meeting assured that he would make agreements with the establishment faction after he returns on February 7,” said a source close to Deuba. “Koirala was pressing for the agreement regarding the dissolution of the party's sister wings. However, since Deuba was in a hurry, he said he would hold vital talks only after his return.”
