Dahal proposes discussion over natl govt

UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has proposed the political parties to hols discussion for the establishment of a national consensus government.
During the meeting of the 33 parties, in the Constituent Assembly, today, Dahal said that the government would not function even if one of the parties stays in opposition. Therefore, he said that the nation is in need of a national consensus government.
“It was agreed in the seven-point deal to form a consensus government. Problems have been arising because of the clash between government and opposition parties. So I urge all to discuss about it,” said Maoist Chairman Dahal.
15 parties along with Dahal, Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Chiarman Jhala Nath Khanal, and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai put forth their views. The remaining parties would present their stance on Saturday.
The meeting dwelled on the issues of form of governance, state reconstruction, electoral system, peace process and constitution drafting process.
Maoist Chairman further showed his annoyance over the fact that the constitution drafting calendar had to be revised because of the petty clashes between the major and fringe parties.
