BIRATNAGAR, FEB 01 -

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadhar has said that the report presented by the minority faction (Nepali Congress and CPN-UML) follows 'Panchayat style.'

Speaking to the reporters at Biratnagar Airport on Wednesday, Gachhadhar claimed that 11 provinces recommended by the report presented by majority members incorporates all the issues.

He said the minority report presented by the members representing NC and UML who are against Tarai, Madhes and ethnicity follows Panchayat style.

He said minority report has not accumulated all the issues.

Gachhadhar said though the report presented by majority is correct, the issue can be moved ahead following discussions by integrating both the majority and minority report.

He said, "Both the reports can be moved ahead simultaneously."

Also on the occasion, Gachhadhar also the Madhesi Janadhikari Forum-Loktantrik (MJF-L) Chairman accused the NC and the UML of being against federalism.

Responding to the protest by Sherpas demanding their separate state, Gachhadhar said, "It is obvious to have some pros and cons while heading for new structure."

Earlier on Tuesday, lawmakers led by Pasang Sherpa and Lucky Sherpa staged sit-in outside the Prime Minister's Office in Singhadurbar to protest against the removal of Sherpa and Jadan states from the state restructuring model.
