KATHMANDU, JAN 29 -
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal on Sunday held discussions with the Maoist People’s Liberation Army (PLA) commanders on the voluntary retirement of the combatants.
Maoist PLA Chief Nanda Kishor Pun, among other commanders, were present during the meeting held at Dahal’s residence in Lazimpat. “We discussed the issues regarding voluntary retirement package with the leaders,” Pun said, adding, “We will go ahead as per the calendar of the special committee.”
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, who is also the Coordinator of the Special Committee for the Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation, was present in the meeting. The meeting of the special committee had decided to initiate the farewell program to the combatants choosing voluntary retirement from Jan 30.
