KATHMANDU, JAN 25 -

Former Finance Minister and CPN-UML leader Surendra Pandey has lashed out at the government for being insensitive on the issues of peace process and economy.

“Government has shown insensitivity by being silent on the issues of peace and statute drafting process,” Pandey said, adding, “The government has failed as the height of insensitivity has been manifested due to its inability to provide the relief package or control the inflation.”

Pandey said an alternative to the present government should be sought as it failed on the issues like economy, peace process and statute drafting. He also accused the UCPN (Maoist) of working against the peace process by claiming a higher position in the Nepal Army and legalising the war-era land transactions.

“Maoist does not implement the agreements signed with the political parties,” he said. He also stressed on the need of utmost flexibility on the sides of the political parties in implementing the deals of the peace process and completing the task of constitution drafting.

Pandey said the present government comprises of the most corrupted persons in the country. He denounced the government decision to hike the price of the petroleum products. He also opined that the task of completing the peace process would be much easier if the political parties move ahead in unison.
