Banke district leaders of Nepali Congress exchanged blows over a dispute on Monday.
Trouble started after NC Banke President Arun Koirala nominated Ramesh Gupta as Vice President, Tek Narayan Bhusal as Secretary and Rabindra Hamal as Vice Secretary of NC Banke. About 20 office bearer, present during the meeting, stood against the decision supported by only four.
District President Koirala then announced that the meeting was put off only to trigger a heated exchange of words among the leaders. The leaders from the parties heckled each other and exchange punches and blows after the dispute, President of Banke Region no. 4 Mahendra Hamal said. He further added that the nomination made by Koirala in a unilateral manner would not be acceptable to them at any cost.
