Gajurel refutes party unity rumors
SINDHULI, JAN 23 - UCPN (Maoist) Secretary CP Gajurel has dismissed the reports that the party has become united. Leader Gajurel, who is known to be a confidant of Maoist hard-line leader Mohan Baidya, said the rumors regarding the party unity do not hold truth in them.
Speaking at an interaction organised in Sindhuli on Monday, the Maoist leader claimed that the party is still divided.
He argued that a common document would have been presented by merging the document of Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Vice Chairman Mohan Baidya.
He, however, said that the party would not split anytime soon though there are serious differences within the party.
Saying that there are chances of both benefit and loss in the party split, Gajurel said the party would not split as it would not be beneficial for now.
Gajurel, who vented his ire at India during his address, stressed on the need to fight for national independence by forming a broader front to fight against India. He opined that the nationalists within the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, among other parties, should be united for the same.
