INARUWA, JAN 22 -

A schoolteacher in Inaruwa, Sunsari, has left for the Capital on a bare-foot trek.

Mahesh Pokharel, a teacher at Inaruwa English Boarding School, set off on a journey to Kathmandu barefoot in his effort to exert pressure for the timely conclusion of the constitution and peace processes.

The 45-year-old embarked on the journey on Thursday. He aims to reach Kathmandu in 20 days and has plans to offer prayers at the Pashupatinath temple for sustainable peace, constitution and checking skyrocketing commodity prices.

Treading along the East-West Highway, Pokharel reached Kadmaha Chowk in Siraha on Saturday evening. “The aim of my visit is to press political party leaders to work in national interest,” he said.
