Supply minister greeted with black flags
POKHARA, JAN 22 -
Maoist-aligned All Nepal National Independent Students Union- Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) greeted Minister for Commerce and Supplies Lekhraj Bhatta with black flags in Pokhara on Sunday.
Minister Bhatta, who arrived here in Pokhara to participate in a program, was shown black flags by his own party cadres. ANNISU-R cadres, along with UML aligned ANNFSU cadres showed black flag to Minister Bhatta in protest against the government decision to hike the prices of petroleum products.
A large number of police personnel have been deployed for the security of Minister Bhatta in Pokhara Airport.
On Wednesday, the state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation hiked the prices of petroleum products. The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas was increased by Rs 175 per cylinder, petrol was hiked by Rs 10 per litre and diesel and kerosene by Rs 9 each.
