No new deals with Maoists: Koirala
KATHMANDU, JAN 22 -
Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said no new agreement would be made with the UCPN (Maoist) if the latter failed to implement the seven-point deal.
Addressing a programme in the Capital on Saturday, Koirala also said legalising land transactions authorised by the Maoist ‘People’s Government’ during the insurgency was a pipe dream of the Maoists. “We are not scared by their revolt threat anymore. If they want to go back into the hiding, we won’t stop them.”
Koirala claimed that there was no factionalism within the NC. “Being a democratic party, all members have their right to put forth their views. However, no one has yet disobeyed the decisions of the party,” he said.
