CIAA team in Far-West to probe deforestation
DADELDHURA, JAN 07 -
A team of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrived Dadeldhura to investigate into the cases of rampant deforestation occurred in Chure region in the district.
The four-member team led by Joint-secretary of the CIAA, Krishna Prasad Dhungana reached the sites on Saturday morning where rampant deforestation was reported.
Similarly, another team led by joint-secretary of the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation has reached to the Chure area for the investigation of the same.
District Forest Office on Friday arrested a chairman of a community forest office for his alleged involvement in rampant deforestation. The team has also issued warrant letters to 10 other chairmen of different forest users committee in the Chure area.
Likewise, the Department of Forest has suspended four assistant-forest officers of Kanchanpur and Dadeldhura district for the first time over the issue of deforestation in Chure region. RSS
