Morcha demands inclusive bill endorsed
KATHMANDU, JAN 06 -
A meeting of the UCPN (Maoist) and Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha on Thursday reiterated its call for timely implementation of the inclusive bill and other points of a four-point agreement that led to the formation of the current government.
According to Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Dan Bahadur Chaudhary, the meeting focused on recruiting the Madhesi youths to the Nepal Army (NA). He said that leaders had agreed to hold legal consultations on the matter as the Supreme Court has stayed the process.
Chaudhary also said Morcha leaders insisted on ensuring easy access to citizenship certificates in the Tarai region. Energy Minister Post Bahadur Bogati said the issue of recruiting Madhesi youths to the NA would be taken up after the apex court gives its verdict. He added that the meeting had agreed to take initiatives for the formation of a national unity government along with timely completion of the peace process by consulting with other parties.
