Explosion in downtown Capital; no casualty
KATHMANDU, JAN 06 -
An unknown group detonated a pressure cooker bomb at Newroad in Kathmandu on Friday. However, there were no reports of casualty or damage to property following the explosion.
According to DSP Dhiraj Pratap Singh at Metropolitan Police Circle Kathmandu, the explosion was carried out by using a one litre capacity pressure cooker packed with explosives.
“The cooker has doesn’t have the lid and traces of sulphur can be found,” he said. “But there was no casualty or damage to property.”
The sound of blast was heard to few meters away from the site. However, no leaflets or any other materials were recovered from the explosion site. Police said they found wires from around the incident site.
