Koirala warns of protests if pacts not implemented
SYANGJA, JAN 05 -
Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said that the recent acts of UCPN (Maoist) have created doubts over timely statute and logical conclusion of the peace process.
Speaking at a press meet organised by the Press Union at Waling of Syangja on Thursday morning, Koirala said doubts have been looming as the Maoist has failed to implement the seven-point pact.
Koirala said, “The Maoist has been making excuses to handover weapons to the government led by its own party, thus, it clarifies how distrustful it is towards constitution drafting.”
The NC will resort to protest against the government if the Maoist fails to implement seven-point pact, return seized property, and dismantle para-military structure of its youth wing Young Communist League (YCL), Koirala warned.
In another context, Koirala said there was no dispute within the party and accused the media of disseminating rumours.
