Govt to remove Tribhuwan's statue from Shahid Gate
KATHMANDU, JAN 02 -
The government has decided to remove the statute of King Tribhuwan Shah from Shahid Gate in the Capital. A Cabinet meeting on Monday took the decision to this effect.
Government Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha informed that the statute will be kept at Narayanhiti Palace Museum.
Tribhuwan’s statue is kept at the Shahid Gate along with the statues of four martyrs—Dharma Bhakta Mathema, Shukra Raj Shastri, Ganga Lal Shrestha, and Dasarath Chand.
Shrestha also informed that the government has decided to organise an assembly on climate change in the Capital on April 5-6.
Similarly, the the Cabinet has also removed Dharma Dev Bajimaya from the post of Nepal Drinking Water Corporation (NDWC) chief. Ram Kumar Yadav has been appointed as the acting chief of NDWC.
