KATHMANDU, JAN 01 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the internal rift in his party will not affect the peace process, as the party will move ahead with decisions made by a majority.
In an interview to the Post on Sunday, Dahal said if the Baidya faction is not comfortable with the "compromises" he has made in the peace process and statute writing, it should come up with an alternative view and walk out of the Constituent Assembly.
Ruling out any possibility of split, Dahal said the party would adopt the theory of "democratic centralism" to address the internal differences. The theory, he said, allows the minority to freely express its dissenting views.
The Maoist chairman indicated that the party would maintain the status quo as neither he could take action against the hardliners nor they could revolt.
