KATHMANDU, DEC 26 -
The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday issued an interim order to stay the government decision to recruit Madhesis youths in Nepal Army (NA).
A single bench of Justice Baijanath Upadhyay issued the stay order after concluding an initial hearing on the writ filed by representatives of Chure Bhawar Party.
General Secretary of Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekta Party Bhumi Raj Niraula and Lawmaker Badri Neupane on Friday filed the writ arguing that the agreement should be scrapped citing it would demoralise NA.
The Cabinet meeting on Tuesday had directed the Defense Ministry to integrate 3000 Madhesis in the NA as a different battalion.
