VS Niketan make winning start

KATHMANDU, DEC 25 -

Defending champions VS Niketan, Lumbini International College, National Campus and Navajeeban College turned the time on their favour in the opening day of Third BST Cup Inter-college boys' Basketball Competition on Saturday. Khamjung Gurng shouldered responsibility for Lumbini by scoring 20 points for his team's 40-33 win over TIA. Rohit Singh's 16 points helped VS Niketan register a 47-41 win over the host team. National defeated U-2 47-41 and Navajeeban routed Redhon.

Premier, Goldengate win

Premier College and Goldengate College won the title of Father Donnelly Memorial Three-on-three Basketball Championship in the girls' and boys' category respectively on Saturday. Premier emerged victorious against Goldengate 15-11. Sujata Rai contributed seven points for her team. Likewise, Sushil Khadka's crucial 16 points helped Goldengate edge British Gurkha 21-15. Premier bagged Rs 25,000, while Goldengate got Rs 8,000.
