KATHMANDU, DEC 25 -
Bibhuti Karki and Sangrakshak Bajracharya lifted the title of U-14 girls' singles and U-12 boys' singles respectively in the 10th Jayakar Memorial Junior National Open Tennis Championship on Saturday.
In the finals played at the tennis court at Satdobato, Karki humbled Bijisha Shrestha 6-1, 6-1 for an easy win.
Karki became richer by Rs 17,500, double the amount gained by her competitor.
Likewise Bajracharya downed Dipesh Khatri 6-3, 6-3 for the title. Bijracharya won Rs 12,500 whereas Khatri had to be content with Rs 6,500.
The tournament that lasted for a week featured 177 participants. The total prize money of the competition was Rs 250,000.
