Ashlesha, Milan win titles
KATHMANDU, DEC 24 -
Aslesha Lissanevitch and Milan Rokka shone in the 10th Jayakar Memorial Junior National Open Tennis Competition by claiming the title of U-16 girls’ and boys’ singles respectively on Friday.
In the final played at the tennis court of Satdobato, Lissanevitch beat Anushka Joshi 6-0,
6-1 for a straight sets win.
Likewise, Rokka became the obvious champion as his competitor, Ivanhoe Lissanevitch walked away from the match abiding to the sustained injury. Abhisek Bastola was too benefitted by Ivanhoe’s injury as he bagged U-14 title.
Both the U-16 winners pocketed Rs 22,500, whereas the runner-ups received the consolation of Rs 11,500.
In U-10 boys’ singles Sangrakshak Bhusan Bajracharya deceived Dipesh Khatri to proclaim as the winner. Bajracharya and Khatri bagged Rs 7,500 and 4,000 respectively. Bijisha Shrestha walked away with the title of U-12 girls’ singles.
Shrestha was honoured with Rs 12,500.
Bastola, amassed Rs. 17,500 and Lissanevitch became richer by Rs 9,000.
The team of Milan Rokka/Yeoram Lissan-evitch savoured victory in U-16 boys’ doubles.
