LAHAN, DEC 22 -
A boy died and six others were injured when villagers countered armed dacoits who came to loot in Belaha VDC-3 in western part of Siraha district on Wednesday night.
Suresh Kumar Yadav, 14, died from the bullet of the dacoits, while being taken to Siraha Hospital for treatment, said DSP of Siraha Jaya Sapkota.
Preparations are on for the postmortem of Shah, he said.
Injured in the incident were Shivanath Shah, 50, his wife Sunita Shah, Geeta Saha, Chandrika Saha, Chandan Shah and Pramod Saha.
The injured are undergoing treatment in the District Hospital, said Sapkota.
The dacoits had looted property worth Rs one million from the houses of Jogindra Shah and his brother Raghunath Saha.
The dacoits, some 10-12 in numbers, fled towards the Kamala river as police did not arrive on time even the police post was close to the site, said locals. RSS
