NEA ups power-cut to 69 hrs a week
KATHMANDU, DEC 19 - Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has increased the power-cut hours from the existing 40 to 69 hours a week, effective from Tuesday.
As per the new load-shedding schedule, consumers will have to endure power outage for up to 11 hours a day.
The state power utility was compelled to increase the power-cut hours in view of the increasing demand during peak hours in the evening and the decreasing production, the NEA said.
Despite being the citizen of the country with second largest water resource in the world, Nepali people will have to manage with meagre power with the arrival of dry season when the water level in the rivers major hydro-power decrease.
