Discharged combatants warn of fresh stir
KATHMANDU, DEC 18 - Discharged Maoist Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) combatants on Sunday unveiled their fresh agitation programmes, saying that their demands were not addressed.
The discharged combatants organised a press conferences in the Capital on Sunday and made public their plans ranging from protest rallies to general strike. They even warned of launching an armed struggle and seizing the weapons stored in the cantonments if their demands were not met.
“We warn the government if they are not willing to facilitate us, we will go back to the camps and capture the containers. The government should understand this otherwise we will prove it in our action,” said Sagar Limbu, member of Struggle Committee Discharged PLA.
They said the government had repeatedly expressed commitments to fulfil their demands but have not implemented it. They also demanded the government to implement the four-point agreement signed with the discharged combatants.
The combatants, who were evicted out of cantonment, had withdrawn an earlier agitation following the four-point agreement.
