Three dead, eight injured in Gulmi jeep mishap
GULMI, DEC 11 - Three persons were killed and eight others injured when a jeep tumbled into the Yangdi river in Gwadi-5, of Gulmi district, on Sunday.
The ill-fated jeep (Dha 1 Ja 191), en-route to Hatiya of Baglung district from Butwal, skidded off the road and fell some 30 meters below the road while trying to escape a pothole on the road, Police Inspector Bedimahadev Poudel of Ridi Area Police Office said.
According to police, Sher Bahadur Kanchha, of Righa VDC-9, and three-month-old Hemant Chhetri, of Gulkot VDC-3 in Baglung district, and an unidentified woman are among the deceased passengers. Kanchha died while undergoing treatment at local Ridi Primary Health Post while the other two breathed their last at the Lumbini Medical College in Palpa district.
It has been reported that one of the injured is in critical condition.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Mission Hospital in Palpa.
