Squatters take out whistle rally

KATHMANDU , DEC 08 - United National Landless Squatters' Front (UNLSF) Nepal took out a whistle rally Thursday morning against the government decision to remove landless squatters living in different places of the Kathmandu Valley.
The rally was started from Shantibatika and converged into a corner meeting after reaching the same place after going through Putalisadak, Exhibition Road and Sahid Gate.
In the corner assembly, Chairman of the Front Deepak Rai warned of resistance against the decision of the government, saying if the government uses force to remove the landless squatters who have been living in the Kathmandu Valley for a long time. He protested the decision of the government of removing them without any alternative arrangement.
Rai further said the government could not remove the Valley's landless squatters without making alternative arrangement to live in the Valley.
It is said that there are 4.7 million landless squatters across the nation. RSS
