Robber involved in BoK heist held
KATHMANDU, DEC 08 - Police on Thursday arrested one of the armed robbers involved in a heist Kamaladi branch of Bank of Kathmandu four years ago.
Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested Raju Thapa Magar, 49, from Durbarmarg for his involvement in the bank heist along with his accomplices on Nov 25, 2007.
Around a dozen armed robbers had barged into the bank on the evening and made up with Rs 21,188,922 in cash.
The arrest was made based on intelligence inputs, said police.
Police have arrested six persons till today in connection with the bank robbery and most of the forayed money had already been recovered through the arrestees.
Police have recovered Rs 29,000 and a driving license from the arrestee’s possession. Around half a dozen people, involved in the robbery are still on the run, police said, adding they have been on the police radar.
