11 applicants for NOC top post
KATHMANDU, DEC 05 -
Eleven candidates have applied for the vacant post of executive director of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC). The post has been empty since the government moved Diga-mbar Jha out of the oil monopoly on Aug 12.
This is the first time the government is appointing the executive director through free competition.
Spokesperson Deepak Pandey of the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies (MoCS) said a four-member committee headed by vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission Dipendra Bahadur Chettri would shortlist five of the 11 applicants.
The hopefuls are Chakra Bahadur Khadka, Lok Bahadur Khadka, Bachhu Kumar Kafle, Suresh Kumar Agrawal, Dipankar Dutta, Digambar Jha, Harihar Panta, Dilli Dhoj Karki, Shiva Hari Shrestha, Binod Aryal and Anil Kumar Jha.
The committee will recommend three names based on the candidates’ performance during presentation and interview. The MoCS will choose one among them. “NOC will get its new chief within a week,” Pandey said.
