KATHMANDU, DEC 04 - The major political parties on Sunday agreed to prepare a relief package through the Special Committee for people who were injured and left disabled during different political movements.

The parties agreed to distribute a relief package on the basis of equality by formulating a concrete policy.

In a meeting, the opposition parties--NC and UML--criticised the government for "discriminating" non-Maoist conflict victims in relief destribution.

The NC and the UML claimed that the government is providing better relief packages to the people close to the Maoist party and its leaders.

NC leaders claimed that the government distributed money only to Maoist cadres from the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction. They said that the ministry provided only 50,000 to the non-Maoists, while Maoist cadres were given Rs 200,000.

"The Special Committee will prepare a comprehensive package for the people who were injured and left disabled during the Maoist movement, Janaandolan-2, and the Madhes and other political movements," said Co-Chairman of Sadhbhawana Party Laxman Lal Karna.

Similarly, the parties concluded that the implementation of the seven-point and six-point deals was "satisfactory."
