‘SC should not intervene in political issues’
RAJBIRAJ, DEC 03 -
Health Minister Rajendra Mahato has said that the Supreme Court (SC) should not have intervened in constitution drafting.
He said the SC should not intervene in political issues.
Speaking to the reporters in Rajbiraj on Saturday morning, Mahato expressed his belief that the constitution will be drafted within the extended tenure of the Constituent Assembly.
He said, "Political parties have forged consensus on major issues, thus, promulgation of new statute is possible within the stipulated time frame, if parties act responsibly."
On the occasion, Mahato informed that integrating people from Madhes community into the Nepal Army will be initiated within a month.
He said the process will be initiated as per the agreement signed between Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) and UCPN (Maoist).
In another context, Mahato said the present government will exist till the promulgation of the constitution and added that exercise has been initiated to include other parties in the government.
