Nat’l football team gets Real sponsor
KATHMANDU, NOV 30 -
The All Nepal Football Association (Anfa) has found a sponsor for the national team a day before the team is leaving for the SAFF Championship in Delhi. On Tuesday, Dabur Nepal Private Limited inked a deal a deal with the football association agreeing to sponsor the national team.
Anfa President Ganesh Thapa and Dabur Nepal Marketing Manager Abhay Prasad Gorkhali signed the memorandum of understanding at a programme.
As per the deal, Real Juice, a product of Dabur Nepal, will provide Rs 1 million to the football association for a year. The money, Thapa said, would be spent in buying football equipment for the national team.
The logo of the endorsed product has been imprinted in the sporting kits to be used by the national players in the championship. The kits were later handed over to Nepal skipper Sagar Thapa. Speaking on the occasion, Dabur Nepal Managing Director Rukma Sumsher Rana, expressed his delight in partnering with the most popular sport in the country.
He said that the signing ceremony was the just beginning of cooperation between two popular institutions. “Football is a popular sport and our cooperation will increase its popularity even more,” he said. Thapa, who is also the vice president of the Asian Football Confederation, was more than pleased to rope in a popular brand like Real. He said the deal had motivated the team to better in upcoming events.
