The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-UML is underway at party headquarters in Balkhu on Monday.
The meeting is reportedly dwelling upon strengthening the party by giving full shape to its organisational department.
The 12th CC meeting, commenced on Nov 23, had proposed to increase the number of members in the organisational department from five to 17 for the sake of strengthening the party in the present context.
A CC member said that today’s meeting would finalise the terms of reference for the members in the department after the dispute surfaced in the names of the members proposed by party General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel.
Earlier, the political report of the party Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal was endorsed by the CC meet. The report mentions that Prime Minster Baburam Bhattarai should resign and clear the way for forming a consensus government to complete the peace process and constitution drafting.
The meeting will end today if it forges consensus on the members of the department, UML informed.
