Anfa penalises Boys Sports and Rai
KATHMANDU, NOV 28 -
The All Nepal Football Association on Sunday ruled in favour of Birgunj Youth Academy in the case that was filed by the club against Boys Sports Club for fielding a player, Ajit Rai, whose name had already been registered at New Diamond, Parsa
(now playing the regional leauge). Birgunj and Boys Sports are competing in the Martyrs’ Memorial ‘B’ Division League.
The football governing body punished Boys Sports by awarding a 2-0 win to Birgunj and banning Rai for at least two years from all football activities affiliated with Anfa.
Meanwhile, Samajik Yuva Club defeated Mahabir Club 3-1 in the other game of the day. Boys Union Club also savoured the sweet taste of victory by winning the game against Star Club 2-0.
Pravin Syangtan opened the scoring for Samajik just four minutes into the game. Bikram Dhimal doubled the lead in the 23rd minute. Mahabir pulled a goal back with the help of Tarjan Thapa’s goal in the 35th minute but Syangtan made sure Samajik walked home with three points, scoring again in the 77th minute.
Rabin Pun and Nissan Limbu contributed in the win of Boys Union by scoring in the 41st and 76th minute respectively.
Regional qualifiers
Sainik Youth Club qualified for the ‘Super League’ stage as winners of group ‘A’ after thrashing New Diamond Yuva Club 4-0 on Sunday in Birtamode.
Meanwhile, Mitra Milan Sunsari also galloped into SL as runner up of the same group after they played a goalless draw against Chartare Morang. Ganesh Hemram scored twice, while Dipen Rai and Puspa Limbu were also on mark for Sainik.
