POKHARA, NOV 27 -
A team of Rajan Thapa magar lifted the ‘Professional-Amateur’ (Pro-Am) title in the 12th Surya Nepal Western Open Golf Championship at the Himalayan Golf Club in Pokhara on Saturday.
The team of Thapa Magar accumulated 90 stableford points that proved fruitful for the title.
The team of ‘pro’ Sanjaya Lama proved second best with 88 points and the team lead by ‘pro’ Ravi Khadka succeeded in clinching third position with a total of 83 points.
In the personal achievement category, Ram Saran Thapa among men and Ambika Rana in female categories were adjudged the most valuable players of the tournament. Thapa Magar managed 27 ‘count-back’ points and Rana registered 25 points to take honours for best players.
Likewise, Nerbu Sherpa walked away with the honour of ‘longest-drive’ and Rabin Rana was felicitated with the title of ‘Closest to the pin.’ The tournament which lasted for four days, consisted of a professional golfer and three amateurs in each team . Altogether 28 professionals and 21 amateur golfers participated in the championship.
