SHAKTIKHOR (CHITWAN), NOV 27 - Expressing dissatisfaction over the ongoing regrouping of former UCPN (Maoist) combatants, the combatants loyal to party Vice Chairman Mohan Baidya have handed over a six-point memorandum to the Special Committee secretariat.

A team of combatants led by deputy commander Udayabahadur Chalaune, at the Third Division Camp in Shaktikhor, Chitwan has demanded the government provide the whole package amount in lump sum to the combatants seeking voluntary retirement, among others.

The Baidya camp has demanded that the government should provide residence to differently-abled combatants, additional amount to “injured” combatants and special packages for pregnant combatants.

“We are not against peace but we had expected respectable integration,” Chalaune told eKantipur. He added that the combatants were dissatisfied with the regrouping process as there were some “unclear issues.”

Meanwhile, the Special Committee for Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of Maoist combatants has said that the process of regrouping has reached its last stage in all the seven cantonments.
