KATHMANDU, NOV 15 - The government on Tuesday sacked Social Welfare Council (SWC) Vice Chairman Dataram Khanal, Treasurer Ratna Bahadur Ghamagar, and Member Secretary Chemang Nangel from their posts for their involvement in irregularities.
Sacked Vice Chairman Khanal is the brother of former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal.
The post of member secretary has been assigned to the joint secretary of Ministry for Women, Children and Social Welfare for the time being.
Furthermore, the Cabinet meeting held this morning at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singhdurbar promoted two Brigadier Generals of Nepal Army to Major General.
Brigadier General Ram Krishna Adhikari and Rajendra Chhetri were promoted to Major General this morning.
Moreover, the meeting also decided to extend the tenure of Brigadier General Dr. Dhurba Bahadur Shah and Dr. Shyam Sundar Sharma of the technical section by three years.
Also, the government has appointed Udaya Raj Soti as the head of Education Commission for four years.
Likewise, the cabinet amended the Financial Aid Terms of Refrence. From now on, treatment expenses will be directly paid to the hospital. Earlier, expenses used to be provided to the particular person.
Likewise, the meeting also decided to form a committee while providing special expenses for treatment to lawmakers except the minor treatment expenses to be provided from the House.
