Publicity of tourism heritages, NTY 2011 through BBC, CNN
KATHMANDU , NOV 14 - The message of Nepal Tourism Year-2011 (NTY-2011) and tourism heritages of Nepal will be publicized in international media- BBC and CNN.
A meeting of the Main Committee of the NTY-2011 held here Monday morning has given permission to the media for international promotion of the Nepal Tourism Year.
Secretariat of the Tourism Year had allocated Rs. 40 million for the publicity.
Similarly, the meeting also decided to conduct programmes in neighboring countries India and China for tourism promotion after completing necessary processes. A total of Rs. 90 million has been allocated for promotional programmes in the two countries.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Lokendra Bista Magar decided to organize concluding programme of the NTY-2011, inauguration of Vision 20-20 and Visit Lumbini Year-2012, in Lumbini in coordination with the Ministry of Culture.
The government had forwarded the campaign of NTY-2011 with the purpose of attracting one million tourists annually by promoting foreign and domestic tourism with a slogan 'Together for tourism' in the coordination with private sectors.
As many as 443,000 tourists have come to Nepal by air during 10 months of the tourism year.
It is informed that the government had allocated Rs. 380 million for the campaign of the Tourism Year 2011. Out of Rs. 380 million, Rs. 130 million has been spent so far. RSS
