Most-wanted ones in Bhattarai-led govt: Oli
KATHMANDU, NOV 10 - CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli has remarked that the Prime Minster Baburam Bhattarai-led government is comprised of “most-wanted” ones. He further charged that the government was promoting impunity.
“There are most-wanted ones in the government,” said Oli, speaking at an interaction organised by the Press Chautari in the Capital on Thursday. “The government would not arrest [the guilty], rather the criminal drives past the police fluttering the national flag.”
Oli accused the current government of carrying out undemocratic and self-interested activities by pardoning those involved in organised crimes. He demanded the government withdraw its decisions to give amnesty to criminals.
Saying that the current government was formed on wrong foundation, the UML leader claimed that this government could not be transformed into a national consensus one.
Leader Oli added that his party would not participate in the PM Bhattarai-led government. Alleging that PM Bhattarai had signed the four-point pact just to become a prime minister, leader Oli dubbed the four-point agreement, signed by the Maoists and the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha, as “anti-national”.
However, he expressed his commitment towards the completion of peace and statute-drafting processes. “The UML is not in favour of raising objections just to clinch the power,” he said. “The UML is okay in the opposition bench; our concern is peace and constitution.”
